Designer Diane von Furstenberg famously said of her new wrap dress in the 70s to Women's Wear Daily, "Feel like a woman, wear a dress", and it is the case that such a decision remains true today.
Fashion allows us numerous choices each morning when we wake up to go to work or dress up for an evening out. So to choose a dress and own it is a statement of ownership, of beauty and confidence in yourself.
The decision making process of pairing trousers or a skirt with a blouse is an opportunity for creativity and style, but sometimes, you simply want to walk out the door in one piece not having to worry whether you choose the correct shade of pink to flatter your print skirt.
